"Jumping on the Steamboat" - Urban Art Work V1

"Steamboat ," evolved from of my sketches of the news that Disney's Steamboat Willie fell out of copyright and into public domain. Famous due to the fact it's an early appearance of Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Imagery emphasizes the original mean spirited version of Mickey. Details to look out for include nods to the controversial 1998 copyright "Mickey"extension, commentary on capitalism and even a bandwagon which I've jumped on.

Technique:

Mounted on 3mm aluminium di-bond , this artwork has been painted using a range of contemporary and traditional techniques including stenciling, spray cans, posca, acrylic paint and mixed media.

Measuring 24 x24" (60 x 60cm), "Steamboat" is striking and impactful. Its size allows it to be a centerpiece and a compelling addition.
