T-Shirt Tuesday: Element One

bruce willis Fifth Element

“You see, Father, by creating a little destruction, I'm actually encouraging life. In reality, you and I are in the same business. Cheers”

We are kicking of a whole fortnight of art inspired by The Fifth Element, with a couple of tee's. How I landed on a whole fortnight of work from a semi success (but with a cult following) is a bit of a happy accident as when the film came out in the 1990s my reaction was Luke warm. I saw it in the cinema and didn't really give it much thought until now. More on that on tomorrows blog and how the collection will unfold, anyway for the uninitiated....

The destiny of the universe lies in the hands of Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis), a cab driver in New York City in the year 2300. After the mysterious Leeloo (Milla Jovovich) gets into his vehicle, his humdrum life takes an unexpected turn.
In order to prevent the coming Great Evil from annihilating the planet, Leeloo, who represents the fifth element, must work with Dallas, together with the eccentric broadcaster Ruby Rhod (Chris Tucker) and Father Vito Cornelius (Ian Holm) all while outwitting the evil industrialist Zorg.
Zorg (played delightfully by Gary Oldman, hamming it up) is the CEO of a mega Corp, the creator and dealer of weapons who takes great pride in his destructive work. Clever, wily, and unforgiving. When his mercenaries fail to recover the stones, he kills them without a thought. A man without principles or perspective, Zorg will happily damn the entire human race as long as it results in a big payday.
Our Tee is a tribute to the 90s cult Sci-Fi movie and part of The Fifth Element collection, grab yours now.
