Throwback Thursday

bruce willis pulp fiction

“Guess what! I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell!”

On this day in 1943 American actor and overall legend Christopher Walken was born. Appearing in such classic movies as the Deer Hunter, The Dead Zone, James Bond villain Max Zorin in A View To A Kill, King Of New York, Batman Returns, True romance and The simply genius gold watch monologue in Pulp Fiction.

“If it had been me who had not made it, Major Coolidge would be talkin' right now to my son Jim. But the way it worked out is I'm talkin' to you, Butch. I got somethin' for ya”

The Captain pulls a gold wrist watch out of his pocket.

Talking of that scene and the movie Pulp Fiction It was announced yesterday Bruce Willis has given up acting after it was made known publicly that he has Aphasia and is now too difficult for Willis to speak and remember his lines.

Bruce Willis is a movie legend and his run in the 1990’s starting in 1994 until 2000 was just incredible, real hall of fame stuff. Pulp Fiction, Die Hard With A Vengeance, 12 Monkeys, The Fifth Element, Armageddon, The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable (wowzer!)

I remember watching a lot of films in the 90s and all those are up with the best of them. Well I hope he stays in good health and can enjoy his retirement with his family.

But Bruce isn't retiring in this household, every year he marks the official start of the Festive period in the Evans House with Die Hard and that's not going to finish anytime soon.

Die hard catapulted Willis from the TV to Movie stardom and is easily the template for action movies ever since.

Yippee-ki-yay, this week's sketch(es)…
