Unforgiven, ink sketch original. A3
This black and white ink noir of a landscape directly inspired by the opening and closing frames of Unforgiven. The focal point is a solitary grave situated beneath the stark silhouette of a lone tree, with the farmhouse standing to the side, a quiet presence in the scene. Rendered entirely in black and white, the artwork employs a combination of media – using the stark differences in ink and pastel. It's a visual echo of the film's somber tone, focusing on the essential elements of the landscape to convey a powerful sense of finality and the quiet resilience of the land.
Part of my Clint Eastwood season.
